Job Summary

Bank of Africa is hiring a Head of Information and Communication Technology to plan and manage the bank’s ICT requirements. The role ensures daily system availability, meets user ICT needs, and supports efficient operations across the bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on ICT hardware, software, and security policies; customize and enforce them effectively.
• Develop and manage ICT strategic and departmental plans aligned with the bank’s goals and budget.
• Oversee ICT operations and lead goal setting aligned with strategic priorities.
• Track ICT expenditures and ensure they align with the approved departmental budget.
• Identify ICT requirements and recommend optimal technology solutions for the bank.
• Negotiate and manage service level agreements with external ICT providers.
• Ensure availability and proper usage of system applications across departments.
• Implement effective Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans (DRP/BCP).
• Train, mentor, and manage ICT staff while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Provide end-user support and training to optimize system usage.
• Ensure network and system security, and coordinate internal and external ICT audits.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Professional certifications: CCNA, MCSE, CISA, or similar.
• At least 5 years’ experience in systems development/administration, with 2 years in a management role.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the banking sector.
• In-depth knowledge of ICT systems and best practices.
• Proficiency in managing network resources, server configurations, and system maintenance.
• Strong planning, project management, presentation, and report writing skills.
• Proactive problem-solving approach to align ICT with business needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with proven leadership experience.
