Job Summary

Nile Breweries Limited is seeking a qualified and self-driven Utilities Process Control Technician to join its engineering team in Mbarara. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance, calibration, and optimization of plant equipment and process control systems.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Calibrate, maintain, and repair instruments and equipment across the utilities plant.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Operate and optimize plant and process equipment to meet production standards.
• Implement basic PLC software changes with necessary approvals.
• Support project scopes, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Utilize loss and waste analysis tools and short interval controls to identify and solve process issues.
• Participate actively in team communication, development, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Apply 5S standards and VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) practices in daily operations.

• Capability to interpret process specs and modify process control software accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

• Trade Tested Millwright or Electromechanical Artisan qualification.
• 3–6 months of on-the-job training plus vendor maintenance experience.
• Previous experience with electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Experience in brewing and utilities plant operations is an added advantage.
