Position Summary

The Underwriting Insurance Officer will oversee underwriting and claims processes, maintain effective communication with clients and insurers, and help retain and grow our business portfolio. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual with prior experience in insurance operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the Underwriting and Claims departments through hands-on guidance and training of staff.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all documentation in both departments.
• Prepare and follow up on renewals, and support business development through prospect/client visits.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and insurance providers.
• Work closely with the Accounts Department to monitor and follow up on outstanding premiums.
• Deliver assigned tasks promptly and efficiently, meeting all internal deadlines.
• Prepare mandatory monthly MIS reports and documentation for client visits and new prospects.
• Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude and contribute to overall team performance.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field (insurance, finance, or business preferred).
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in insurance underwriting or claims handling.
• A Diploma or Certificate in Insurance is a strong advantage.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service mindset.
