Position Summary

As a Passenger Check-In Agent, you will be the frontline representative of Uganda Airlines at the airport. Your role is to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient passenger check-in, baggage handling, and boarding procedures while delivering outstanding customer service. Reporting To: Passenger Check-In Supervisor Department: Ground Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and secure working environment in line with airport and airline regulations.
  • Check in passengers at ticket counters and boarding gates, issuing boarding passes efficiently.
  • Tag and process passenger baggage to the correct destination.
  • Coordinate with ramp and baggage handling teams to ensure all luggage is correctly loaded.
  • Handle customer complaints related to baggage, ticketing, flight delays, and cancellations.
  • Make public announcements regarding flight boarding, delays, and other important information.
  • Answer customer inquiries related to flight schedules, fares, availability, and airline policies.
  • Liaise with the flight crew and use ground-to-air radio for operational coordination.
  • Coordinate with airport service providers such as fueling, catering, and maintenance teams.
  • Dispatch accurate departure and arrival flight movement messages in real-time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A university degree or Higher Diploma in a relevant field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in passenger services or airport operations with a reputable airline or ground handling company.
  • Solid understanding of airport operations, airline procedures, and passenger services.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations and safety procedures.
