Temporary Procurement Support Staff

Contract | Location: Kampala, Uganda
Deadline: 30th June 2025

Alight Uganda is recruiting Temporary Procurement Support Staff to join our team in Kampala. This role is critical in supporting procurement operations and enhancing supplier management for Alight’s projects across Uganda, particularly the MUSHO Project and activities in the West Nile region.

About the Role

Objectives:

  • Establish a reliable list of pre-qualified suppliers for goods, services, and works in the West Nile region.

  • Set up new framework agreements for frequently purchased goods/services.

  • Renew existing framework agreements for Kampala and other operating areas.


Key Deliverables:

  • An approved supplier list for the West Nile region.

  • Framework agreements in place for regularly procured goods and services.

  • Renewed framework agreements for Kampala-based suppliers.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Renewal of current framework agreements.

  • Evaluate submitted prequalification applications.

  • Conduct debriefs with the Procurement Committee and recommend suppliers.

  • Draft and finalize supplier prequalification reports.

  • Add qualified suppliers to the master supplier list.

  • Send RFPs/RFQs to initiate new framework agreements.

  • Coordinate bid openings and evaluations.

  • Prepare Procurement Committee reports for review and approval.

  • Draft, review, and sign contracts with suppliers.


Reporting Line:

Reports to the Head of Logistics and Supply Chain (based in Kampala).


Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • CIPS or other relevant certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or administration—preferably with an international NGO.

  • Hands-on experience in supplier prequalification and framework agreements setup.

  • Familiarity with contract terms and procurement compliance.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Sound understanding of procurement best practices and supplier management processes.
