About the Role

Nile Breweries is seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Manager to take strategic leadership of the Engineering and Utilities functions at our Maltings Plant. This role is critical for ensuring plant reliability, environmental compliance, and maintaining the health of process systems. Ideal candidates will bring leadership experience in FMCG environments and demonstrate technical excellence aligned with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Safety and Environment

• Maintain a safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety legislation.
• Uphold high safety and housekeeping standards.

2. Human Resource Development

• Lead employee development via Objective Performance Reviews (OPR).
• Ensure a positive industrial relations environment.
• Manage technical career pipeline for key roles in the plant.

3. Systems and Instrumentation Integrity

• Ensure change control and system integrity.
• Oversee calibration and maintenance of site instrumentation.

4. Compliance with Engineering Standards

• Ensure consistent application of engineering standards.
• Update standards through ZBS Maintenance and Energy & Fluids guidelines.

5. Strategic Reporting and Feedback

• Diagnose performance issues and implement integrated HR solutions.
• Provide performance feedback and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

6. Employee Engagement

• Analyze engagement data from surveys and KPI scorecards.
• Implement targeted plans to boost team engagement and morale.

7. VPO Leadership

• Lead the People Pillar agenda for VPO across the Maltings Plant.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–3 years of managerial experience in technical services.
• Minimum of 5–7 years working experience in the FMCG industry.
