Job Summary:
Sukuma Commodities Ltd, a leading player in Uganda’s coffee export industry, is currently seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join our growing team in Kampala. This is a full-time opportunity for an organized and motivated professional who is passionate about inventory control and logistics, especially in the coffee production and export sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, receiving, dispatching, and storing green and processed coffee, as well as managing packaging materials and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage stock levels of green coffee beans, processed coffee, packaging materials, and other relevant supplies across the warehouse.
- Oversee the accurate receipt and documentation of incoming goods and verify quality and quantity upon arrival.
- Manage dispatch and shipment processes of coffee products designated for export to international buyers.
- Maintain meticulous inventory records using both manual logs and digital warehouse systems.
- Ensure storage facilities meet hygiene and safety standards for food-grade products as per industry and company regulations.
- Collaborate with the production and logistics teams to ensure efficient warehouse-to-export workflows and timely product delivery schedules.
- Generate periodic inventory and stock reports for management to assist in planning and forecasting.
- Report damaged or expired stock and implement preventive measures to reduce losses and improve stock handling efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience working as a storekeeper, warehouse supervisor, or similar role, ideally in the food processing or export industry.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, storage practices, and warehouse software systems.
- Experience working with agricultural products, particularly coffee, is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of export logistics, packaging standards, and documentation related to international shipments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in stock and documentation handling.
