Malaika Children Initiative is a compassionate, youth-centered organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children through advocacy, education, and community empowerment. We’re seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to help us tell our story, grow our online presence, and deepen engagement with our audience.

Job Summary

As our Social Media Marketing Intern, you will work with our marketing team to develop and implement social media strategies, manage content calendars, and support digital campaigns. You’ll help build awareness for our initiatives, drive engagement across platforms, and support our mission of social change through compelling online content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, schedule, and publish content across various social media platforms.
  • Develop and execute engaging social media strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Engage with followers, respond to messages and comments, and foster online community interaction.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Assist in designing graphics and writing captions or blog-style content for posts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support digital campaigns and event promotions.
  • Research trends and recommend new approaches to increase audience reach and impact.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing.
  • Experience in social media content creation (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Strong communication and marketing abilities.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to craft visually and emotionally engaging content.
  • Strong analytical skills to track and evaluate content performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Hootsuite is a plus.
  • Current enrollment or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is an added advantage.
