Baristas and pastry professionals can start small coffee kiosks, home baking businesses, mobile coffee services for events, or supply pastries to schools, offices, and supermarkets. With creativity and quality control, these skills can evolve into profitable catering or café ventures.

Waiters, waitresses, and hostesses can provide event service staffing for weddings, corporate events, and private parties. Many event organizers require trained temporary service staff on a contract basis.

Housekeepers can offer professional home cleaning services, Airbnb cleaning services, and office cleaning contracts. Reliable cleaning services are in high demand in urban areas.

Security officers can work as private security consultants, provide residential guarding services, or partner with licensed security firms.

Restaurant and Food & Beverage Managers can offer consultancy services to new restaurants and hospitality startups in areas such as menu planning, operations setup, cost control, and service training.

Available Positions at Fontis Residences Hotel

1. Barista

• 1–2 years’ experience as a Barista in a hotel, café, or restaurant
• Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and presentation techniques
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work under pressure and within a team
• Creativity and passion for coffee and beverages

2. Security Officer

• 1–2 years’ experience in security, preferably in a hotel or corporate environment
• Strong observation and alertness skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly
• Integrity, honesty, and reliability
• Physical fitness

3. Waiters / Waitresses

• 6 months – 1 year experience in food service
• Certificate in Catering, Hospitality, or Hotel Management
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or equivalent
• Basic Food Safety and Hygiene training is an added advantage

4. Housekeepers

• Minimum 1 year experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel setting
• High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Good communication and guest service skills
• Honesty and reliability

5. Hostess

• Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or related field
• Previous hotel or restaurant experience is an added advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

6. Restaurant Manager

• 3–5 years’ experience in restaurant or hotel food and beverage operations
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of financial management and stock control
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours

7. Pastry Chef

• 2–3 years’ experience in pastry or baking roles
• Creativity and passion for baking
• Strong attention to detail and presentation
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of modern baking techniques and trends

8. Food & Beverage Manager

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good financial management and reporting abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure
