About Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB)
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a statutory body established under the URSB Act, Cap. 210. URSB plays a critical role in commercial, civil, and intellectual property rights registration, contributing to private sector development and generating vital statistics for national planning.
Job Summary
URSB is seeking two dynamic and detail-oriented professionals to join its Registration Services team as Senior Registration Officers. The role involves executing and supporting registration processes in accordance with statutory requirements, policies, and operational standards.
Reports to: Assistant Commissioner – Registration Services
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Register copyrights, rights assignments, licenses, contracts, and related documentation.

Maintain and update the registry database to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and reliability of records.

Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines that improve registration services.

Provide input in reviewing and updating legal frameworks relevant to URSB’s registration mandate.

Address and resolve public and stakeholder queries related to registration matters.

Draft legislative action plans and evaluate current registration laws for compliance and effectiveness.

Manage the assessment and collection of non-tax revenue generated from registrations.

Conduct hearings and issue decisions related to registration disputes.

Offer technical and legal advice to clients on the registration process.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education
Option 1:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.

Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC or equivalent).
Option 2:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work & Social Administration, or Business Administration (Management option).

Postgraduate Diploma in Management from a recognized institution.
Work Experience
-
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Registration or Regulation Officer or in an equivalent role within a reputable public or private organization.
