Job Summary

Pathfinder International is hiring a dynamic Senior Partnerships Advisor, Africa to lead strategic partnerships and increase regional revenue. Based in Kampala, Uganda, this full-time role reports to the Director of Business Development and Partnerships. The successful candidate will work closely with country directors and regional leadership to expand the organization’s footprint across Africa through impactful collaborations and innovative funding strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership and Revenue Generation

  • Identify and pursue diverse fundraising opportunities with governments, corporates, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Lead partnership negotiations and finalize MOUs and contracts in line with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement a partnership strategy and fundraising roadmap for Pathfinder’s Africa operations.
  • Collaborate with country and regional directors to define high-priority partnership targets.
  • Establish a landscape map of local partners with comparative strengths and partnership potential.
  • Develop scopes of work and teaming agreements for local collaborations.
  • Support the development of at least five MOUs per country to enhance revenue stability.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to generate new donor relationships and funding opportunities.

Partnership Management and Stewardship

  • Act as the main liaison for ongoing partnerships, ensuring transparency and timely communication.
  • Maintain internal coordination tools (e.g., Teams, iShare) for donor communications.
  • Lead regular briefings and engagement forums with strategic partners.
  • Coordinate partner engagement with country directors and technical leads.
  • Develop stewardship tools and a centralized contact database for all partners.
  • Provide monthly updates on partnership development and emerging opportunities.

Visibility and Landscape Analysis

  • Work with MEL and Communications teams to produce impactful content showcasing Pathfinder’s success stories and influence in Africa.
  • Support internal visibility efforts with timely donor updates, presentations, and reports.
  • Stay informed on the donor landscape, organizational strengths, and sectoral positioning.
  • Update and revise capability statements for external sharing with stakeholders.
  • Support the regional team in preparing for donor meetings and visibility events.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, and fundraising with international NGOs or within the global health sector.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with non-USAID funded projects.
  • Familiarity with donor priorities in the SRHR or international development sector.
  • Prior experience living or working in the Global South.
  • Fluency in French, Portuguese, or Arabic.
