Relationship Manager

Full-Time | Location: Kampala, Uganda

NCBA Bank Uganda is hiring a dynamic and results-oriented Relationship Manager to oversee and grow a portfolio of high-value clients. This role involves driving deposit mobilization, managing lending activities, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and maximizing profitability while maintaining prudent risk management practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage strong business relationships with clients in the Institutional Banking segment.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients to ensure exceptional customer experience and retention.

  • Monitor all banking operations associated with client portfolios including deposit-taking, lending, and service delivery.

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Drive the growth of the bank’s deposit book and meet set portfolio and income targets.

  • Recruit, grow, and retain Institutional Banking customers to enhance business volumes.

  • Generate new business opportunities and improve profitability across client portfolios.

  • Ensure a diversified deposit base in line with ALCO guidelines and strategic objectives.

Reporting & Portfolio Performance

  • Prepare periodic reports on client performance, deposit growth, and relationship status.

  • Benchmark service delivery and customer experience with key industry players to enhance client satisfaction.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Submit well-structured credit proposals for Institutional Banking clients requiring financing, in line with internal credit policies.

  • Monitor and manage risks within the assigned portfolio by implementing sound risk management frameworks and controls.

  • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues and maintain a 24-hour turnaround standard for query handling.


Qualifications & Experience:

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field is required.

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.

Professional Certifications (an added advantage):

  • ACCA, CPA, CFA, or related professional qualifications.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial banking, with at least 3 years in customer relationship management or business development.

  • Proven track record in sales and marketing of financial products.

  • Strong knowledge of banking operations and institutional relationship management.
