Job Summary

Newrest is seeking a qualified and committed Quality Controller to join its team in Entebbe. The successful candidate will oversee quality control operations, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and monitor compliance with HACCP and SOP guidelines across all production activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent adherence to high food quality standards across all operations.
• Train staff in hygiene principles and HACCP regulations.
• Coordinate timely dispatch of hygiene samples to auditors and airline clients.
• Audit and inspect suppliers regularly to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Receive, inspect, and validate the quality and shelf life of incoming goods.
• Monitor food production processes, including temperature checks and time records.
• Oversee implementation of HACCP and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure safe storage practices and proper stock rotation (FEFO).
• Verify that meals are weighed accurately and documentation is complete.
• Ensure staff understand and implement hygiene and food safety requirements.
• Monitor chlorination of water and collaborate with the maintenance team.
• Maintain clean and compliant critical control points.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications for all airline meals.
• Ensure all first aid kits are adequately stocked and maintained.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in food quality control or related field.
• Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Detail-oriented with excellent reporting and documentation skills.
• Computer literate with the ability to use relevant software tools.
• Trustworthy, honest, and committed to the company’s mission.
• Professional, mature, and adaptable personality.
