About the Role

Q-Sourcing Limited, on behalf of TotalEnergies, is seeking a competent, skilled, and experienced QC Technician South to join the team working on an upstream oil and gas project in Uganda. This role supports the QC Leader South and is responsible for ensuring that inspection activities are carried out safely, effectively, and in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the QC Leader on all technical and operational matters related to the inspection function.
• Ensure full compliance with company quality and safety procedures on-site.
• Conduct site inspections to assess contractor work quality and intervene when quality standards are not met.
• Supervise third-party inspection personnel, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
• Perform inspection tasks, review and approve contractor documentation, and ensure proper recordkeeping.
• Ensure all staff have access to current codes, practices, and specifications.
• Collaborate with contractors to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
• Issue and follow up on non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
• Track and analyze quality trends, and advise the QC Leader and project management on key observations.
• Maintain strong relationships with contractors while enforcing project quality controls.
• Attend and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly project meetings.
• Compile and submit detailed reports related to inspection and quality control activities.
• Undertake any additional tasks as assigned by the QC Leader or Construction Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Expertise in welding, fabrication, NDT, and metallurgy.
• Valid CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector certification is required.
• Knowledge in NDE/NDT, pipeline construction, and plant coating inspections.
• Experience with Quality Assurance Systems and auditing practices.
• Familiar with international standards and Oil & Gas Industry Codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant reporting tools.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Must hold a valid medical certificate that meets company standards.
