Project Coordinator – Child Protection

Position Type: Full-time, Fixed TermAbout the Role
ChildFund International is seeking a qualified and passionate Project Coordinator to provide overall leadership in the implementation of a community-based Child Rights Monitoring and Remediation System (CRMRS). This project aims to ensure that children’s fundamental protection rights are respected and promoted in and around coffee farming communities in the Greater Masaka region of Uganda. The Project Coordinator will oversee the execution of activities in line with the approved proposal, ensuring the achievement of deliverables and outcomes. The role involves close collaboration with district and community-level partners, as well as direct supervision and capacity building of project staff.ChildFund’s Commitment to Safeguarding

- Lead the planning and implementation of CRMRS project activities in alignment with the project proposal and ChildFund standards.
- Ensure quality implementation, timely delivery of outputs, and achievement of project objectives.
- Monitor and manage the project budget, ensuring compliance with both ChildFund and donor financial regulations.
- Facilitate data collection, documentation, and contribute to project learning and knowledge management.
- Maintain consistent communication and coordination with community leaders, government departments, and partner organizations.
- Prepare and submit high-quality reports, updates, and documentation as required.
- Establish systems for documentation and file management to support project monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the project team to foster performance and accountability.
- Uphold and promote ChildFund’s safeguarding policies in all interactions and engagements.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management in the NGO or development sector.
- At least 3 years of motorcycle riding experience with a valid permit, as regular travel to field sites is required.
- Experience managing donor-funded projects, especially in child protection and community development settings.
- Previous involvement in multi-stakeholder projects or consortium-based implementation is highly desirable.

Working Environment
