About the Role

The Uganda Press Photo Awards (UPPA) is seeking a proactive and organized Programme Assistant to support our photography-centered programs. This role is ideal for a Kampala-based individual with a passion for visual storytelling, photography, and community-driven arts programming.

As part of a small and dynamic team, you’ll play a key role in supporting event logistics, partner coordination, communications, and general administration for UPPA's exhibitions, workshops, and other creative initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and execution of photography-related events, workshops, and exhibitions.

• Assist with both internal and external communications, including drafting and editing content for newsletters, reports, and social media.

• Coordinate project logistics, including scheduling, timelines, and liaising with stakeholders.

• Serve as a point of contact for photographers, partners, and collaborators.

• Maintain accurate documentation and provide general administrative support across projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience or demonstrated interest in photography, visual arts, or cultural programming.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• A collaborative team player who can work independently when needed.

• Comfortable using digital tools (e.g. email, Google Workspace, Canva, or social media platforms).

• Computer proficiency is essential.
