Job Summary
Baylor Uganda is seeking a dedicated Prevention Officer to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of HIV-TB project activities under the Global Fund/TASO program across supported districts. The role focuses on advancing HIV prevention strategies, including interventions for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), building strong community-facility linkages, and engaging key stakeholders. This is a field-intensive position requiring up to 80% travel to remote and underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination, and implementation of Global Fund/TASO HIV-TB project activities in cluster districts.
- Provide technical assistance for project activities based on national guidelines and technical strategies.
- Regularly update and maintain the Global Fund-TASO activity tracker in collaboration with M&E and Cluster teams.
- Document implemented activities and ensure accurate monthly and quarterly project reports.
- Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders including CSOs, district officials, and community structures.
- Facilitate effective referral and linkage systems between community service delivery and health facilities for AGYW HIV, SRH, GBV, and TB services.
- Establish and support District Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Community Quality Improvement teams.
- Prepare activity trip plans, budgets, and implementation schedules on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Represent the project in district meetings and technical forums where required.
- Document success stories, blogs, and case studies for project visibility and learning.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or a health-related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working on AGYW or DREAMS Initiative programs is an added advantage.

- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fieldwork readiness and ability to work in remote areas.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital reporting tools.
