Job Overview

ABSA Bank Uganda is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Premier Service Assistant to join its team in Kampala. The role is responsible for driving business performance by acquiring new customers, enhancing existing customer relationships, and delivering top-tier customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Sales to Retail Banking Customers

  • Participate in product campaigns and explain offerings to clients.
  • Achieve and exceed personal and branch sales targets.
  • Refer clients requiring specialist support to relevant departments.
  • Build strong relationships with branch staff to generate referrals.
  • Support the account opening and onboarding process.
  • Conduct financial analysis for loans and communicate outcomes to clients.
  • Follow up with clients post-account opening and loan approval.

Customer Service

  • Resolve queries and complaints related to accounts, loans, and card services.
  • Collaborate with internal service teams for timely resolutions.
  • Notify customers of ready items like cheque books and loan approvals.
  • Assist in directing walk-in customers during peak hours.

Branch Support

  • Open and close tills in coordination with the Branch Manager or BOM.
  • Authorize teller transactions exceeding their limits.
  • Manage branch cash levels, restocking, and excess repatriation.
  • Perform other branch-related duties as assigned.

Compliance and Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of KYC compliance and operational rigor.
  • Escalate service delays or unresolved KYC issues promptly.
  • Support risk management and internal audit processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies.
  • Prior experience in retail banking or customer service is an added advantage.
