Job Summary

The Medical Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for:

  • Planning, implementing, and monitoring medical quality assurance programs.

  • Conducting medical audits and reviewing claims to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements and healthcare standards.

  • Providing actionable insights to improve medical service quality and patient care outcomes.

This role reports to the Head of Medical Services/Quality Assurance and involves close collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance teams, and regulatory bodies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Quality Assurance & Compliance

    • Conduct audits of medical claims and healthcare provider performance.

    • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.

    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance quality standards across medical service delivery.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting

    • Analyze medical records and claims data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

    • Prepare reports on medical quality performance and present findings to management.

    • Track metrics and KPIs for healthcare service quality and compliance.

  • Program & Stakeholder Management

    • Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers to ensure compliance with service level agreements.

    • Participate in designing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.

    • Provide guidance and training to staff and stakeholders on medical quality assurance processes.

  • Risk Management & Process Improvement

    • Identify potential risks in medical service delivery and propose mitigation strategies.

    • Support the implementation of corrective actions following medical audits or investigations.

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in medical quality and claims handling.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Academic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or a related healthcare field.

    • Additional certifications in medical quality assurance (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality – CPHQ) are preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Proven expertise in medical claims assessment, quality assurance, and clinical auditing.

    • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting to monitor healthcare quality.

    • Experience with healthcare management software and tools.

  • Key Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and program management skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    • Analytical mindset to interpret medical data and drive evidence-based decisions.

    • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical best practices, and quality improvement methodologies.

    • Empathy and understanding of patient care needs and challenges.
