Job Description

Akiba Expeditions Africa Ltd is hiring a qualified Mechanic Diesel/Hydraulic (Kraftfahrzeugmechatroniker) to join its skilled workforce. The successful candidate will diagnose and maintain mechanical engineering systems, hydraulic systems, and internal combustion engines. You must also be competent in maintaining electric-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy-duty machinery such as excavators. Training will be conducted both on active construction sites and in vocational settings provided by the employer. You will also receive additional instruction in diesel engines, hydraulics, and machine safety. This opportunity includes a structured pathway to live and work in Germany with work visa sponsorship and language training.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic system faults using diagnostic equipment
• Repair and maintain diesel and electric-powered vehicles and heavy machinery
• Perform test drives to assess repairs and ensure optimal function
• Understand safety protocols on construction sites and workshop environments
• Participate in structured vocational training and language courses

Requirements

• Ugandan citizenship with National ID (Passport required for visa)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related mechanical field
• Technical or vocational training certification in mechanical, automotive, or hydraulic systems
• Completed O-Level or A-Level education
• Strong teamwork, motivation, and a responsible work ethic
• Willingness to undergo German language training (up to B1 level)
• Physically fit and able to pass a mandatory medical examination
• No criminal record (required for visa processing)
• Commitment to live and work in Germany
