one of Uganda’s leading multi-platform media organizations, is seeking a highly strategic and results-driven Marketing Manager to strengthen brand equity, grow audiences, and drive sustainable revenue across its broadcast, print, digital, and commercial printing platforms.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape integrated brand, marketing, and communication strategies for Vision Group’s diverse media portfolio while working closely with cross-functional teams to align business, content, and marketing objectives.


Position Details

  • Reports To: Head of Marketing & Communications
  • Duty Station: Head Office – Kampala

Role Overview

The Marketing Manager will play a central role in planning, executing, and managing integrated marketing and communication strategies that enhance brand health, expand audiences, improve product usage, and support long-term commercial growth.

The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of media audiences, and the ability to translate insights into innovative marketing initiatives across multiple platforms.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Brand Management

  • Support the development, implementation, and management of integrated marketing and communication strategies for broadcast, print, and digital platforms.
  • Prepare and execute audience-specific annual brand and channel plans aimed at strengthening brand health and growing reach and engagement.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning, messaging, and tone across all platforms in line with approved brand guidelines.
  • Monitor brand performance and equity, and recommend timely strategic interventions to address gaps and opportunities.

Audience Growth and Innovation

  • Drive innovation in marketing approaches that align with evolving audience behavior and changing media consumption trends.
  • Collaborate with research teams to generate actionable insights on audience behavior, brand perception, innovation opportunities, and market trends.
  • Use data and insights to inform segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies across diverse audience groups.

Product Development and Campaign Execution

  • Coordinate new product development initiatives across Vision Group’s platforms.
  • Oversee and support successful product launches, ensuring clear positioning and strong market entry.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver advertising, promotional, and brand-building campaigns.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Programming, Content, Circulation, Creatives, and Advertising Sales teams to ensure alignment between editorial, commercial, and marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Heads to deliver integrated campaigns that support both audience growth and revenue targets.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and manage a multi-disciplinary brand and marketing team to deliver agreed objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Budgeting and Financial Management

  • Support the Head of Marketing & Communications in annual marketing and brand budget planning.
  • Manage marketing and brand budgets in line with approved financial controls.
  • Ensure cost efficiency and rationalization while maintaining marketing effectiveness.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is an added advantage.

Working Experience

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in brand or marketing management.
  • Experience within a media, broadcasting, publishing, or digital environment is strongly preferred.
