About the Role

NCBA Uganda is seeking a highly motivated and experienced banking professional to fill the role of Manager – Personal Assistant Relationship. This full-time role is a strategic position designed to drive personal banking business growth by building and maintaining high-quality relationships with existing and prospective customers. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent service and generating new business through personal banking channels. Specific duties include:
  • Drive the growth of the personal banking portfolio by achieving set income and customer retention targets.
  • Prospect and recruit new personal banking customers while identifying opportunities for cross-selling banking products.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets for all personal banking products in the assigned branch.
  • Manage and deepen relationships with existing clients to increase their engagement and share of wallet.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and reactivate dormant accounts for increased revenue.
  • Keep up with market trends and innovate new ways to package and promote personal banking products.
  • Cross-sell a wide range of NCBA products including bancassurance, digital channels, asset finance, and corporate banking services.
  • Perform regular Relationship Manager (RM) calls to clients and provide updates on new products or policy changes.
  • Ensure account opening and loan processes meet turnaround time (TAT) standards as outlined in the customer service charter.
  • Ensure full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and risk management requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean asset and liability book by proactively identifying and addressing risk elements.
  • Support audit preparedness by achieving at least a ‘Satisfactory’ rating and resolving audit exceptions promptly.
  • Manage inactive or overdrawn accounts to ensure proper account maintenance and customer engagement.
  • Use CRM and Credit Quest systems effectively to manage client data and loan workflows.
  • Collaborate with the credit appraisal team to structure client-specific financial solutions.
  • Conduct branch training sessions to ensure staff are up to date with banking products and customer handling techniques.
  • Provide leadership in resource planning, setting branch performance objectives, and team development.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide insights to the branch and corporate management for strategic planning.
  • Actively manage your own learning by attaining the required training hours annually.
  • Support leave planning and cover responsibilities in coordination with the Branch Manager.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Branch Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field is required.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or Credit Management are an added advantage.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong credit analysis skills and in-depth knowledge of banking policies and products.
  • Ability to interpret financial documents and develop tailored banking solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience in banking, with a strong focus on sales, customer service, and relationship management.
