Job Summary

Unilever Uganda is seeking a results-driven Logistics Specialist to manage and support daily logistics operations, including shipment coordination, customs documentation, supply planning, warehouse management, supervision of 3rd-party (3P) activities, inventory waste management, and transporter payment reconciliation. The role ensures timely, cost-effective product availability while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This is a prime opportunity to grow your career in a leading FMCG organization.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning

  • Prepare and update replenishment plans based on sales forecasts and historical data.

  • Coordinate timely orders with suppliers and procurement.

  • Ensure smooth execution of warehouse processes for new product launches and innovations.

  • Monitor stock levels to prevent stock-outs or overstock.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all warehouse and transport activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct periodic safety checks and collaborate with 3P providers to close any safety gaps.

  • Promote a culture of safety awareness among all logistics and warehouse staff.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.

  • Ensure cycle counts are completed and accurate stock records maintained.

  • Identify business waste, damaged, or expired goods, and obtain approvals for disposal per SOP.

Supervision of 3P Warehouse Activities

  • Monitor daily 3P warehouse operations against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Ensure safety, housekeeping, and accurate order picking.

3P Payment Reconciliation

  • Verify transporter invoices against trips, signed PODs, and rates.

  • Prepare all 3P-related payments OTIF (On-Time In-Full).

  • Resolve discrepancies and prepare payment summaries for finance.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain trackers for deliveries, stock movement, and supply plans.

  • Collaborate with sales, procurement, and finance to ensure smooth logistics operations.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or relevant field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a supply chain organization.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, 3P management, and waste disposal SOPs.

  • Understanding of transport cost structures and customs procedures.

  • Strong planning, coordination, analytical, numerical, and supervisory skills.

  • Solution-driven with the ability to implement innovative ideas.

Preferred:

  • Experience in FMCG supply chains.

  • Supply Chain degree or certification.
