  • NGO Secretariat Support Services: Provide meeting coordination, documentation, and reporting services for development partners.

Project Background

The Uganda Refugee Resilience Initiative (URRI) aims to strengthen climate resilience among refugee and host communities while promoting inclusive and environmentally sustainable development in refugee-affected areas. The programme is funded by the Royal Danish Embassy in Kampala.

Job Purpose

The position holder will strengthen programme visibility and ensure smooth coordination and delivery of meetings, workshops, and field visits. The role combines secretariat coordination, documentation, branding, and communications responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Secretariat Support & Events Management (65%)

  • Support planning and documentation of Joint Management Group meetings.
  • Coordinate annual IMC meetings including logistics and facilitation.
  • Organize field visits including itineraries and briefing notes.
  • Support mid-term and end-of-programme reviews.
  • Prepare participant lists, minutes, reports, and photo documentation.
  • Follow up on action points from meetings and missions.

2. Communication, Branding & Visibility (35%)

  • Manage URRI social media platforms including LinkedIn, X, and Instagram.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized photo and video repository.
  • Collect and package human-interest stories and multimedia content.
  • Draft press releases, articles, and success stories.
  • Ensure compliance with DANIDA visibility requirements.
  • Provide editorial and visual documentation support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Communication, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in programme coordination, communications, or events management.
  • Experience organizing high-level meetings and workshops.
  • Experience managing organizational social media channels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working within donor-funded or multi-partner programmes.
  • Photography, videography, or graphic design skills are an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and multitasking abilities.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
