NCBA Bank Uganda is seeking an experienced and proactive Relationship Manager to join our dynamic team. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing all banking, lending, deposit-taking, and operational activities related to a portfolio of high-value clients. The primary goal is to grow the bank’s liabilities, monitor and manage credit exposure, and maximize returns while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clients in the assigned portfolio to deepen engagement and grow share of wallet.
- Lead client acquisition efforts by identifying, targeting, and onboarding new high-value customers across various business sectors.
- Actively grow the deposit base and lending portfolio in line with the bank’s strategic goals and revenue targets.
- Regularly monitor and assess client credit performance and proactively identify potential risks to ensure portfolio quality is maintained.
- Prepare and review credit applications, facility renewals, and financial analysis reports, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-sell a full range of NCBA Bank products and services including digital banking, trade finance, corporate banking solutions, and treasury services.
- Engage clients with tailored banking solutions based on their unique financial needs and business models.
- Ensure client onboarding processes comply with KYC/AML regulations and internal procedures.
- Conduct regular client visits and relationship reviews to evaluate satisfaction levels and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all client documentation and transactions are processed accurately and within the bank’s turnaround time standards (TAT).
- Provide timely and effective feedback to management on market developments, client feedback, and competitor activity.
- Work closely with internal departments such as credit, risk, legal, and operations to ensure seamless service delivery and client experience.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage and will be preferred.
Professional Certifications:
- Professional training or certification in ACCA, CPA, CFA, or related financial disciplines is a strong advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a commercial banking environment is required.
- At least 3 years must have been in Relationship Management, Business Development, or Corporate/Personal Banking roles.
- Proven experience in sales and marketing of financial products and services.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, credit management, and compliance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build, grow, and manage customer relationships while achieving business targets.
