Job Summary:

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is hiring a detail-oriented and proactive Raw Materials Controller to oversee all raw materials stock transactions and storage within the warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate receiving, issuing, storage, and inventory controls in alignment with the company's quality and safety standards. Reporting to the Unit Manager Processing, this position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth production operations through efficient material availability and control.

Key Responsibilities:

The Raw Materials Controller will perform a wide range of duties that support operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and compliance with CCBA’s internal standards and policies.
  • Ensure all raw materials are received and placed in the correct store locations promptly and accurately.
  • Verify that all materials are clearly and correctly labeled according to prescribed company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure stored materials align with the material master data and inventory system records.
  • Conduct and coordinate daily, monthly, and annual stock counts to ensure accurate stock reconciliation.
  • Supervise the return process of unused or excess materials, confirming that they are properly handled and stored in original condition.
  • Monitor all raw material deliveries to ensure they meet company specifications in quality, quantity, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all new deliveries are physically received, quality-checked, and accurately posted into the system without delay.
  • Report and follow up on all quality-related issues and non-conforming materials with the relevant departments, including procurement and quality assurance.
  • Lead safety initiatives in the raw materials stores by identifying and reporting hazards, and enforcing risk assessment standards as per Environment, Occupational Safety, and Health (EOSH) guidelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the raw materials stores team, ensuring roles are clearly defined and team members are productive and compliant with policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Stores Management, Logistics Management, Inventory Control, Procurement, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.

Required Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in raw materials management, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector or a high-volume materials handling environment.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound understanding of raw material handling, warehousing standards, and inventory systems.
  • Working knowledge of business management systems such as SAP or similar ERP tools.
  • Good communication skills—both written and oral—for reporting and coordination with internal teams.
  • Strong grasp of stores and inventory management principles, including FIFO, stock rotation, and material shelf-life monitoring.
  • Document and records management skills to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
  • Understanding of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) procedures.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively within a team environment to drive performance and results.
  • Planning and organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in inventory recording and stock movements.
  • Customer orientation, ensuring internal stakeholders (production, procurement, QA) are supported with timely and accurate stock availability.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. The role requires extended time on your feet, walking, lifting moderate weights, and occasional interaction with trucks and forklifts. Compliance with PPE and all site safety policies is mandatory.
