Job Title: Loader Job Location: Mbarara, Uganda Job Type: Full-Time Department: Administration Hiring Company: Nile Breweries (AB InBev)

Job Summary:

Nile Breweries Limited, a proud part of AB InBev, is looking for a responsible and motivated Loader to join our logistics and warehouse operations in Mbarara. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading, unloading, and stacking goods, performing pre-trip inspections, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring adherence to safety, operational, and customer service standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Fleet Maintenance:

  • Maintain vehicle condition through routine inspections and timely servicing.
  • Fill out pre-trip inspection forms accurately before every trip.
  • Ensure forklift and other equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Monitor and maintain correct levels of fuel and operating fluids.

2. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Strictly follow company and legal stacking regulations.
  • Comply with all site safety and housekeeping policies.
  • Wear correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times as per the designated area requirements.

3. Loading and Unloading Activities:

  • Use load summary to accurately load and unload split/full pallets.
  • Ensure proper counting of products at both loading and unloading locations.
  • Verify and ensure delivery documents are signed and properly issued.

4. Stock Quality Management:

  • Adhere to warehouse stock age standards using the stock rotation method.
  • Conduct quality control checks on packaging before loading.

5. Inventory Management:

  • Participate in accurate and signed handovers during every shift change.
  • Perform and record daily stock counts accurately.
  • Maintain effective communication with Inventory Analysts, Clerks, and Stock Officers.

6. Operational Efficiency:

  • Comply with fuel usage standards and reduce idling and excessive braking.
  • Prevent breakages and eliminate missing bottles by adhering to safe handling practices.

7. Production Support (where applicable):

  • Load raw materials and empties onto production lines efficiently.
  • Remove finished goods and stack them in designated areas without disrupting productivity.

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage change effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of automobile or mechanical engineering is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience driving heavy goods vehicles.
  • Valid forklift driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in an industrial setting.

  • Job Band: XII
  • This is an on-site role based in Mbarara.
  • All appointments will be made in accordance with AB InBev’s employment equity policy.
