MOGO Uganda is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, policy compliance, and performance management.

As a key member of the HR team, you’ll contribute to building a productive and engaged workforce aligned with MOGO’s values and goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle (job descriptions, advertising, screening, interviews, onboarding) and ensure compliance.
  • Employee Records and Administration: Maintain accurate personnel records and manage employment contracts.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Assist with payroll processing and administer benefits programs.
  • Policy Implementation and Compliance: Support HR policy development and ensure compliance with laws; advise on policies and employment law.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate training programs.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance appraisal process and advise on improvement plans.
  • Employee Relations and Engagement: Address grievances, mediate disputes, and promote staff engagement.
  • General HR Support: Provide administrative support for HR projects and prepare reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or in a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions (recruitment, payroll, benefits, training, compliance).
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR Information Systems (HRIS) is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification is an advantage.
  • High ethical standards and reliability.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
