Organization: Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) Location: Kampala, Uganda Application Deadline: 29th July 2025 Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) is inviting applications for the position of Human Resource Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals seeking to begin or grow a career in Human Resource Management with one of Uganda’s key public institutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain accurate personnel records as per FIA guidelines.
  • Interpret and advise staff on HR policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Monitor staff attendance through registers and biometric systems.
  • Provide guidance and support in resolving workplace conflicts.
  • Prepare monthly salary schedules and submit them to the Senior HR Officer.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:
  • Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Business Administration, or any other related field with a bias in Human Resource Management.
Experience:
  • No prior experience required. Open to fresh graduates.

Required Competencies

  • Understanding of FIA’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Ability to interpret employment laws and HR policy.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Strong work ethics and high integrity.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strategic thinking and sound decision-making abilities.
