Job Summary
Amani Sasa is looking for an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead staff accountability, employee support, welfare, and professional development programs. This role manages the entire employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a positive, Christ-centered workplace culture aligned with Amani Sasa’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Accountability & Performance Management
- Oversee performance management systems promoting excellence.
- Coordinate probation, mid-year, and annual appraisals with managers.
- Ensure timely appraisal submissions and deliver constructive feedback.
Staff Support, Welfare & Development
- Manage employee grievances and promote a healthy work environment.
- Assess training needs and coordinate development programs.
- Collaborate with Counseling Department for staff wellness.
- Conduct regular check-ins with support staff (kitchen, reception, cleaning).
- Oversee leave management, payroll updates, and staff benefits.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate recruitment, screening, interviews, and orientation.
- Manage exit processes including documentation and clearances.
HRIS Management & Compliance
- Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and employee files.
- Review and update HR policies ensuring compliance with Ugandan labor laws.
- Collaborate with Finance on staff list updates.
Organizational Development & Legal Compliance
- Submit timely HR reports and statistics.
- Liaise with legal teams on employee-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and coordinate with the Labor Office.

- High cultural competence and emotional intelligence.
- Strong confidentiality and professional judgment.
- Ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
- 2-3 years of HR experience preferred.
- Experience in multicultural NGO settings is a plus.
- Proficient in IT and HR management systems.
