About Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA)
The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) is a government agency established under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (2013) to monitor, investigate, and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing in Uganda. It is mandated to ensure that Uganda’s financial system is secure, compliant, and transparent.
With offices in Kampala, the FIA plays a vital role in protecting Uganda’s economic stability. As part of its internal strengthening, the Authority is building a dynamic human resource team capable of fostering a strong institutional culture and supporting operational success.
Job Summary
The Human Resource Officer will support the management of the FIA’s HR function, including handling personnel data, coordinating staff attendance systems, interpreting HR policies, resolving internal conflicts, and contributing to payroll preparation. This position demands attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to professional HR practices.
Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resource Officer, you will be responsible for:

Updating and maintaining accurate and complete personnel data and employee records.

Interpreting and advising staff on HR rules, policies, regulations, procedures, and standing orders.

Managing staff attendance records, including maintaining the staff clock-in/clock-out system in line with FIA’s HR manual.

Providing technical support and guidance in conflict resolution among staff.

Preparing and submitting monthly salary schedules to the Senior Human Resource Officer in time for payroll processing.

Supporting other HR activities such as staff onboarding, leave management, and employee file audits as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this role, applicants must possess:

Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Commerce, or any related field with a bias in HR Management.
