The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a statutory body established under the URSB Act Cap. 210. URSB plays a pivotal role in the registration of commercial, civil, and intellectual property rights, supporting private sector development and providing vital data for national planning and decision-making.
Job Summary
URSB is seeking to recruit two dynamic and experienced Senior Software Developers to lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software systems that drive operational efficiency and support strategic goals.
Reports To: Principal IT Officer
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Design, write, and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code for a range of software applications.

Develop and manage secure, scalable APIs and system integrations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical requirements and deliver high-impact solutions.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers through code reviews and design sessions.
-
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems.

Participate in software architecture planning and design reviews.
-
Ensure software solutions meet security, performance, and scalability standards.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs and system issues.
-
Continuously evaluate and improve development practices, tools, and technologies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Postgraduate Diploma in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.

Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Oracle Java Certification) are an added advantage.
Experience:
-
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in software development, including at least three (3) years in a substantive Officer-level position within a reputable organization.
Key Competencies
Technical Competencies:

Proficient in software development and system design methodologies.

Strong skills in database management and system integration.

Experience in API design, microservices, and system architecture.

Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
Behavioral Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Demonstrated innovation, adaptability, and attention to detail.
