Description

Are you a recent graduate or final-year student with a passion for Human Resources and a desire to contribute to meaningful work in the nonprofit sector? Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU) is seeking a motivated HR Intern to support the Human Resources, Learning, and Organization Development (HRLOD) team.

This internship provides valuable exposure to nonprofit HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, staff development, and wellness activities. It’s an ideal stepping stone for students and recent graduates eager to gain hands-on HR experience in Uganda.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing recruitment and onboarding activities for new staff.

  • Support proper filing and documentation of employee records and HR files.

  • Help coordinate staff wellness programs, HR trainings, and team events.

  • Contribute to the planning of safeguarding, inclusion, and compliance sessions.

  • Perform day-to-day HR administrative tasks under the guidance of the HR team.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A recent graduate or final-year student pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3–6 months of previous internship, volunteer work, or project-based experience in HR or admin functions is an added advantage.

  • A genuine interest in nonprofit work and human resources development.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.


Internship Terms & Benefits

This is a non-compensated internship position, provided in line with HFHU’s Internship Policy. However, interns may be supported with the following:

  • Office tea

  • Transport allowance (as applicable)

  • Modest accommodation during field assignments (if applicable)
