Job Title: HR and Facilities Officer

Job Summary

De Heus Animal Nutrition is seeking a dedicated HR and Facilities Officer to support day-to-day human resource operations and oversee facility management at the plant in Njeru. The successful candidate will ensure smooth administrative processes, maintain a safe and well-organized workplace, and uphold HR policies across all staff and outsourced service providers.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to both employee engagement and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Duties:

  • Manage HR administration, employee records, and HRIS systems.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal HR policies.

  • Monitor attendance, leave, and timekeeping systems.

  • Assist in training coordination and employee communication.

  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture and support CSR initiatives.

Facilities Management Duties:

  • Coordinate outsourced services including cleaning, security, gardening, and waste management.

  • Oversee office furniture, equipment, and facilities, ensuring maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance.

  • Coordinate office maintenance and minor repairs through approved service providers.

  • Support management of HR-related service contracts for outsourced manpower and administrative services.

  • Conduct routine inspections and ensure utilities (water, electricity, waste) are functioning and paid on time.

  • Maintain inventory and records for facility supplies (e.g., safety equipment, toiletries, furniture).

  • Support health, safety, and fire prevention compliance in coordination with the HSE Officer.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in combined HR and administrative/facilities management.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or plant setting is an advantage.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HR systems is a plus.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Effective in team collaboration and managing third-party relationships.
