Head of Innovation & Digitization

Job Purpose

The Head of Innovation & Digitization will lead the development and execution of Post Bank Uganda’s digitalization strategy. This role involves identifying innovative digital initiatives, implementing cutting-edge technology solutions, and enhancing business value through digital transformation efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Digitalization Strategy

• Develop and manage the bank’s digital strategy aligned with corporate goals.
• Promote a digital culture by advancing people, processes, and technologies.
• Create a digital roadmap using tools and metrics to identify new growth opportunities.
• Lead software and design teams to develop customer-centered digital solutions.

Innovation Strategy

• Build an innovation roadmap that supports top-line growth.
• Use innovation to differentiate the bank and enhance customer experience.
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable digital innovations.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Develop and review policies in line with global innovation standards.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, Bank of Uganda regulations, and budgets.

Departmental Planning & Management

• Create a supportive environment for digital innovation and technology adoption.

Financial Responsibility

• Manage the Innovation & Digitization department budget.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master’s degree in ICT or business-related field is an added advantage.
• Certifications such as ITIL, CISA, or other ICT-related qualifications are desirable.
• 10+ years in digital transformation with 5+ years in innovation leadership.
• Experience managing enterprise digital strategies and large-scale transformations.
• Knowledge of project management tools like GitLab, Microsoft Project.
• Membership in a professional banking body is an added advantage.
