Job Summary

EBC is hiring a dynamic and visionary Head of Human Resources to lead our people strategy, align HR functions with organizational transformation goals, and enhance employee engagement. This role partners closely with the executive team to influence strategic planning, foster innovation, and drive a high-performance culture throughout the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the company’s vision and objectives.
  • Lead organizational design, change management, and culture alignment initiatives to drive performance and efficiency.
  • Advise senior leadership on complex change processes including restructuring, mergers, and organizational growth.
  • Design and oversee talent management programs to attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent.
  • Drive workforce planning and succession strategies to ensure leadership pipeline and business continuity.
  • Champion leadership development and internal capability building across all departments.
  • Refine and implement performance management and employee recognition frameworks to embed a culture of excellence.
  • Ensure HR policies, systems, and procedures are legally compliant, scalable, and aligned with global best practices.
  • Manage employee relations, grievance resolution, and conflict management while mitigating organizational risk.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR and business management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in designing and executing HR strategies in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
  • Strong understanding of Ugandan employment law, regulatory compliance, and modern HR practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and drive change.
  • Data-driven decision-making ability with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications and/or financial services sectors is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • Industry experience in telecommunications or ISP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern HR technologies and digital HR systems.
  • Commitment to ethical HR practices and fostering a positive workplace culture.
