Job Summary – Head of Finance

As the Head of Finance, you will provide strategic financial leadership, drive sustainable business growth, and ensure that the company maintains robust financial health. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as a key member of the executive team and act as the primary financial advisor to the board and other senior stakeholders.

You will lead all aspects of financial planning, reporting, analysis, and compliance, while also managing risks, optimizing capital structure, and supporting investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Finance, your main responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
  Develop and execute a robust financial strategy aligned with the company’s long-term goals and business objectives.

• Financial Planning & Analysis:
  Oversee the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial models that support business decisions and performance tracking.

• Reporting & Compliance:
  Lead the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure full compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.

• Advisory Role:
  Provide financial insight and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to aid strategic planning and resource allocation.

• Audit and Risk Management:
  Manage internal and external audits, ensure sound financial practices, and implement robust risk management strategies to protect company assets and ensure business continuity.

• Leadership and Team Management:
  Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• Stakeholder Communication:
  Present financial performance and strategic insights to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors.

• Financial Systems & Tools:
  Drive automation and efficiency in financial processes using modern accounting software and reporting tools.

• Cross-Border Financial Operations:
  Manage financial aspects of international operations, including foreign exchange risk, cross-border transactions, and international compliance (where applicable).

Required Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for the Head of Finance position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required.

  • A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.

• Professional Certifications:

  • CPA, ACCA, or CFA certification is mandatory.

• Experience:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior executive position overseeing financial strategy and operations.

  • Solid experience with financial planning, analysis, risk management, and decision-making at a strategic level.

  • Previous experience in the telecommunications or financial services sector is preferred.

• Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and corporate finance principles.

  • Proficiency in financial software, ERPs, and business intelligence tools.

• Leadership Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.

• Communication Skills:

  • Capable of articulating complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
