Job Summary
Evidence Action is hiring a Financial Assistant to provide critical clerical support within the Finance Department. This temporary role (4 months) helps ensure smooth financial operations in Kampala while bridging a short-term staffing gap.

Associate, Accountant

None
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily clerical tasks: sorting, scanning, and filing financial documents
- Assist with monthly financial returns for submission and audit readiness
- Help retrieve vendor receipts and track missing documentation
- Conduct occasional visits to local vendors to follow up on documentation
- Organize, label, and archive financial documents appropriately
- Provide finance support during Field Officer absences
- General administrative support to the finance team
- Any other finance-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualifications (completed or in progress) are a plus
Experience and Skills
- At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a not-for-profit or NGO setting
- High computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with computerized accounting systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High integrity and commitment to fraud prevention
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration ability
- Experience supporting finance functions in complex or multi-country contexts is an advantage
