Position Overview

Engineers Without Borders East Africa (EWB-EA) is seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to lead financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial planning across both NGO and consulting arms. This role is vital to strengthening the organization’s financial systems in preparation for future growth and investment readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, financial planning, and internal controls.

• Manage donor financial reporting and ensure compliance with donor and grant requirements.

• Support external and internal audits, including timely preparation of audit schedules.

• Oversee risk management processes and financial governance.

• Enhance and implement systems and controls to ensure accountability and transparency.

• Contribute to the development of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA or ACCA certification (mandatory).

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management within the NGO or enterprise development sectors.

• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, financial reporting, and grant management.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and general financial systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
