KCB Bank Uganda is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to lead statutory reporting, financial disclosures, group reports, and regulatory filings. This is a senior-level opportunity ideal for qualified finance professionals with a strong background in financial reporting, external audit, and corporate accounting. As the Finance Manager – Reporting, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Bank of Uganda reporting standards, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and group reporting guidelines. 1. Financial Reporting and Statutory Compliance
- Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports to the Central Bank of Uganda (BoU) and ensure alignment with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for internal decision-making.
- Prepare group financial reports and ensure timely and accurate submissions to the Group Finance team.
- Develop, update, and implement financial reporting policies aligned with IFRS and KCB Group standards.
2. Annual Financial Reporting & Publication
- Oversee the preparation of the Bank’s Annual Financial Report, ensuring compliance with statutory and professional accounting requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including external auditors, regulators, and group finance for approval and publication.
- Ensure timely publication of annual reports in line with regulatory deadlines.
3. External Audit & Risk Control
- Manage the external audit process by coordinating audit planning, execution, and issue resolution with auditors.
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment within the reporting unit.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate financial reporting risks, ensuring alignment with internal audit recommendations and risk frameworks.
4. General Ledger & Data Integrity
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions recorded in the Bank’s general ledger.
- Oversee reconciliation processes and verify that data integrity is maintained across systems used for financial data capture and storage.
- Ensure all accounting entries comply with IFRS and internal policies.
5. Leadership and Team Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and coaching to direct reports and other finance team members.
- Support talent development and ensure team capacity to deliver high-quality financial reporting outputs.
- Foster a performance-oriented culture focused on compliance, integrity, and collaboration.
6. Financial Performance Presentations
- Support the Head of Finance in preparing and presenting financial performance reports to executive management, regulators, shareholders, and the Board of Directors.
- Provide analytical insights into key performance drivers, cost controls, and financial projections.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Professional certifications: CPA (U), ACCA (mandatory).
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Strategic Management is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and reporting within a banking or financial institution.
- Experience in areas such as corporate financial reporting, audit coordination, risk & governance, and accounting leadership.
- Sound understanding of IFRS, Central Bank reporting frameworks, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent command of financial reporting tools and techniques.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate financial results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
