Job Overview

The Finance Manager – Reporting will be responsible for managing and coordinating all statutory, management, and group financial reporting processes. The role will ensure compliance with financial regulations, international standards, and internal controls while delivering timely and accurate reports that support decision-making at senior levels. The Finance Manager will also provide strategic insights, supervise audit processes, and mentor a high-performing reporting team.


Key Responsibilities

As the Finance Manager – Reporting, your key duties will include:

  • Coordinating and leading the preparation of statutory reports required by the Bank of Uganda and other regulatory agencies.

  • Preparing internal management reports, KCB Group reports, and other periodic financial reports to track performance and facilitate timely decision-making.

  • Leading the development of the Annual Financial Report, ensuring it adheres to applicable accounting and regulatory standards.

  • Ensuring that the reporting unit operates within a robust internal control environment, minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Overseeing the data integrity and compliance of all transactions posted in the general ledger according to IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.

  • Managing the external audit process, including liaising with auditors and coordinating all audit requirements to ensure successful completion.

  • Providing mentorship, coaching, and leadership to the finance reporting team, ensuring productivity and alignment with departmental goals.

  • Supporting the Head of Finance in presenting performance updates to senior executives, stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.


Minimum Qualifications

Academic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required.

  • Professional certifications such as CPA (U) or ACCA are mandatory.

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in:

    • Financial reporting

    • Management accounting

    • Risk management

    • Governance and controls

    • Stakeholder relationship management

    • Experience within the banking or financial services sector is highly preferred.


Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of IFRS, regulatory guidelines, and financial reporting requirements in Uganda.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Oracle, SAP, or similar enterprise-level financial software.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High-level attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills for reporting to senior stakeholders.

  • Sound understanding of the Ugandan banking sector and financial regulatory framework.
