Job Overview

Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation Uganda is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the organization’s financial strategy, ensure donor compliance, and provide sound stewardship of resources. This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in NGO finance jobs in Uganda and a passion for transparency and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement finance policies, plans, and systems to support organizational growth.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee daily financial tasks such as payroll, bank reconciliations, and asset tracking.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate reports for internal management and external stakeholders including donors.
  • Audit & Compliance: Manage audit processes, regulatory compliance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Grants & Donor Management: Monitor project budgets and support financial aspects of grant reporting.
  • Risk Management: Maintain robust internal controls and manage financial risks.
  • Capacity Building: Train staff in financial procedures and systems to ensure best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Manage the finance team and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the NGO or development sector.
  • Sound knowledge of Uganda’s financial laws, tax regulations, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Experience handling multi-donor budgets and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, MS Excel, and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; local languages are an advantage.
