Job Summary

We are hiring a Finance and Administration Officer to be based in Oruchinga – Isingiro District. You will report technically to the Head of Finance and administratively to the Team Leader. The role involves financial management, petty cash handling, compliance, administrative support, and ensuring proper documentation and internal controls at the field office.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Verify PRFs and payment requests for correct donor coding, fund allocation, and backup documentation.
  • Manage petty cash and process cash and check payment vouchers within policy limits.
  • Ensure accurate recording and submission of financial documents to the Kampala office.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with Alight Uganda and donor financial procedures.
  • Maintain a secure, accessible, and well-organized filing system for finance documents.

Administration

  • Update leave records, timesheets, and send monthly reports to the HR office in Kampala.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes for field-level staff and incentive workers.
  • Assist in exit and clearance processes for departing staff members.
  • Perform any other administrative tasks as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance and admin role, preferably with an NGO in Uganda.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability under deadlines.
