We are now expanding operations in Nakapiripirit District, Uganda, and seeking passionate Field Officers to join our impactful mission.

Job Summary: Field Officer

As a Field Officer, you will support the implementation of GiveDirectly’s cash transfer program by engaging with local communities, collecting data, resolving issues, and maintaining the highest standards of transparency and professionalism. You will work within one of the following teams: Census, Registration, or Follow-Up, with flexibility to rotate based on needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Census Team

  • Lead village barazas to explain the program and answer questions.
  • Collaborate with village elders to understand boundaries.
  • Visit every household in the village, collect accurate data via TaroWorks.

2. Registration Team

  • Distribute phones and train recipients in their use.
  • Verify eligibility and ensure readiness for transfers.
  • Collect accurate data using TaroWorks and CommCare.

3. Follow-Up Team

  • Conduct follow-up surveys (phone or in-person) to confirm transfer receipt.
  • Manage hotline calls and address recipient concerns.
  • Support recipients with mobile money registration issues.
  • Report adverse events such as fraud, conflict, or rumors.

✅ Qualifications & Skills

  • Fluency in Nga’karimojong is required.
  • At least 1 year of field experience in humanitarian or community work.
  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience with digital data collection tools (CommCare, TaroWorks, Salesforce).
  • High integrity, empathy, and ability to work under difficult conditions.
