About the Role
Rikolto East Africa is recruiting four Field Facilitators to support the implementation of the SAFE-CSA Uganda Project. The role focuses on strengthening climate-smart, regenerative, and deforestation-free coffee production at cooperative and community level.
The Field Facilitators will work closely with cooperatives, Community-Based Trainers, MSMEs, and local stakeholders to deliver training, support field implementation, and ensure effective data collection and reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Field Facilitator will:
- Support delivery of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) trainings in collaboration with Community-Based Trainers and cooperatives.
- Support establishment, follow-up, and effective use of CSA demonstration plots.
- Strengthen capacities of Community-Based Trainers and cooperative technical teams through coaching and on-the-job support.
- Contribute to regenerative soil management activities, including soil testing, biochar demonstrations, and agroforestry actions.
- Integrate gender and youth approaches, including the GALS methodology.
- Support strengthening of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs).
- Support cooperatives and MSMEs in market readiness, traceability, and compliance with EUDR requirements.
- Ensure collection and reporting of field-level data in line with the project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework.
- Contribute to documentation of results, lessons learned, and good practices.
Collaboration and Supervision
The Field Facilitator reports to the Project Manager and works closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team, cooperatives, Community-Based Trainers, MSMEs, and other local stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Candidates should have relevant experience in field facilitation, agriculture, community development, or related project implementation work. Experience in climate-smart agriculture, cooperative support, or sustainability projects is an added advantage.
