Role Overview

The Field Extension Officer will work directly with farmers to promote best agricultural practices, support agro-input adoption, strengthen farmer relationships, and contribute to increased outlet sales through structured field engagement and reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to farmers on best farming practices and appropriate input combinations to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Maintain an up-to-date farmer register using the Kobo Collect application to generate accurate digital farmer profiles.
• Onboard and support at least one active agro-input agent per month.
• Visit, support, and report on farmer engagements consistently throughout the season.
• Establish and manage functional demonstration gardens to showcase best practices and product performance.
• Develop and implement localized marketing strategies to increase sales at agro-input outlets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agents, and customers.
• Report all field sales activities and farmer interactions daily through the designated Extension WhatsApp group.
• Organize and support farmer field days at the end of each farming season.

• Ability to use mobile data collection tools such as Kobo Collect.
• Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
