Job Purpose

The Farm Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing farm machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal operational downtime. The role requires hands-on mechanical and basic electrical skills and a strong understanding of preventive maintenance in a farm environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair farm machinery and equipment.
• Develop, implement, and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Carry out routine inspections to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Maintain diesel generators, pumps, tractors, sprayers, and small farm equipment.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Keep accurate maintenance and service records.
• Report major faults and maintenance needs to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in farm, mechanical, or equipment maintenance.
• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, and farm machinery.
• Ability to plan and manage preventive maintenance activities.
• Reliable, disciplined, and willing to work full-time on a farm in Mubende.
