Description

Driver Job in Kampala – Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

Uganda Jobs Network presents a professional driving opportunity with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). The organization is recruiting a Driver to support safe and efficient transportation of staff, goods, and materials within Kampala and other operational areas.

This full-time position is ideal for experienced and disciplined drivers seeking reputable Jobs in Uganda within the NGO and humanitarian sector. The successful candidate will ensure safe driving, proper vehicle maintenance, compliance with safety standards, and professional conduct at all times.

If You Are Not Selected: How Professional Driving Skills Can Become Self-Employment

If you apply for this Driver position and are not selected, your professional driving experience can still be transformed into sustainable self-employment opportunities in Uganda’s transport and logistics industry.

With at least five years of professional driving experience and strong knowledge of Kampala and regional road networks, you can start independent transport services such as corporate staff transport, NGO contract driving, airport transfers, school transport, courier services, or goods delivery.

Drivers with experience in NGOs or government institutions can position themselves as contract drivers for development projects, short-term field missions, or consultancy-based assignments. Many organizations hire drivers on project-based contracts rather than permanent employment.

With defensive driving training and a strong safety record, you can also expand into vehicle leasing services with driver, fleet support services, or last-mile delivery businesses serving e-commerce and retail companies.

At Uganda Jobs Network, we encourage professional drivers to view employment opportunities as stepping stones toward long-term independence and entrepreneurship in the transport sector.
