Job Summary

Are you a skilled and safety-conscious driver looking for a stable full-time job in Uganda? Healingway Hospital, a trusted name in healthcare, is seeking a professional Driver to join our growing team in Kampala. This role offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to a health-focused organization while utilizing your driving expertise. As a Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transport of hospital staff, patients, medical supplies, and official documents. You will be required to adhere to all traffic laws, maintain hospital vehicles in excellent condition, and ensure that all transport-related duties are carried out with care, respect, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport hospital staff, patients, and materials to and from designated locations.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any faults or mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure vehicles are always clean, fueled, and properly maintained.
• Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and scheduled servicing.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws and road safety regulations at all times.
• Run hospital-related errands as assigned by the administration.
• Assist patients with boarding and alighting from vehicles when required.
• Work cooperatively with hospital staff and patients to ensure a positive transport experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

• Valid Ugandan driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• At least 2 years of proven driving experience, preferably in a professional or institutional setting.
• Excellent knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and Kampala city routes—especially around Namanve.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and emergencies.
• Good communication skills and a respectful, courteous attitude.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and capable of handling confidential information appropriately.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.
• Applicants must reside in or near Namanve.
