About the Role

The successful candidate will bring strong accounting experience, analytical skills, and the ability to support key financial decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger reconciliations and lead monthly closing activities.
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns, ensuring full compliance with Ugandan tax laws and regulations.
• Support internal and external audit processes with accurate financial data and required documentation.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable to maintain financial accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate across departments to provide financial analysis, reporting, and insights that support strategic decisions.
• Prepare and review core financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
• Safeguard confidential financial data and ensure proper documentation of sensitive records.
• Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and reporting standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (B.Sc. in Accounting is preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or auditing, preferably in a corporate or regulated environment.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are a strong advantage.
• Excellent understanding of IFRS, Ugandan tax laws, and financial reporting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Excel, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and results-oriented.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments or priorities.
• Preferred age: 35 years and below.
